Seeking a Full-time Administrative Assistant Quincy, MA Massachusetts Senior Action Council (MSAC) is a multiracial, grassroots organization led by seniors committed to social justice.
Through community organizing we build the power of our collective voice to work for economic, social, and racial justice for all seniors and our communities.
Founded in 1981, Senior Action has an impressive history of winning meaningful institutional and policy change, and is respected as one of the most dynamic, effective grassroots groups of organized lower-income seniors in the country.
The Massachusetts Senior Action Council is seeking a responsible Administrative Assistant with effective communication skills and an attention to detail to work in collaboration with MSAC's Executive Director to enhance the organization's systems and capacity.
This full-time position will be instrumental in the day-to-day operations and administration of the organization including support of its communications, fundraising, and record keeping.

Responsibilities:
Answer and direct phone calls Organize and support meetings:
scheduling, preparation of materials, take minutes Write and distribute email, correspondence memos, letters, faxes, and forms Assist in the preparation of regularly scheduled reports Develop and maintain a filing system Update and maintain office policies and procedures Order office supplies and research new deals and suppliers Light bookkeeping Maintain organizational database Act as the point of contact for internal and external communications Support fundraising activities including event planning, grant reporting, and donor communication Qualifications BA, BS, or comparable combination of education and work experience required.
Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills with a proven reputation for attention to detail.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, QuickBooks Online, and Salesforce platforms.
Passion and commitment to grassroots social change, collective efforts to promote social, racial, and economic justice, and the empowerment of low-income, working-class people.
Can meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment.
Excellent personal accountability and follow through.
Experience working with diverse communities.
Multilingual skills are a plus.
Compensation:
Salary is competitive and based on experience and equity.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
