The General Manager must be knowledgeable of all facets of store operations. Key Duties and Responsibilities Consistently grow the business by exceeding all sales and profit targets, and managing payroll in conformity with company strategy and core values Create an effective work schedule that ensures appropriate coverage to improve results and provide high levels of customer service Monitor and manage inventory to ensure maximum profitability and product availability Maintain high standards of customer service, including prompt handling of all customer and Team Member concerns Maintain security and safety throughout the store at all times Maintain store appearance and merchandising at or above established standards Select, train, develop and retain quality Team Members; effectively coach Team Members to full potential Ensure management team values diversity and supports a fair and respectful environment for both Team Members and customers; including high performance, recognition, candid feedback and rewards for performance exists on their team Demonstrate an eagerness to be a team player and assist in other functions as assigned by District and Region leaders, and as needed, including, but not limited to: cleaning, organizing, stocking, operating POS equipment, truck loadingunloading, etc. Essential Job Skills Necessary for Success as a General Manager Working knowledge of automotive systems preferred Speak and write English (Spanish a plus); communicate effectively and build strong relationships with customers, peers and upper management Use Microsoft software effectively (Word, Excel required PowerPoint preferred) Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, percentages, sales increases, and gross profit percent Ability to review and analyze business reports, such as profit and loss statement (P L) Hold others accountable, inspect work quality and give feedback in a way that is inspiring Ability to work an assortment of days, evenings, and weekends as needed Prior Experiences that Set a General Manager up for Success 2-3 years experience managing a team of 10 20 Team Members in a fast-paced and highly dynamic retail environment Successful experience managing profitability; proven financial and business acumen 070111 Education High school diploma or general education degree (GED), Bachelors degree in business or a related area preferred Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Must have a valid drivers license and be fleet safety certified ASE certification preferred, but not required Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a Team Member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
